Light contact exhibition style Muay Thai Tournament in association with the CMTO.

Light contact bouts serve as an excellent introduction to the sport of Muay Thai for youth, instilling confidence that can lead to eventual transition to full-contact bouts. Early Bird: Valid through November 17th - November 30th (11:59pm): $30
Normal Registration: Valid from December 1st - January 5th (11:59pm): $50

If you are not currently a member of Muay Thai Ontario, pay a $60 sanctioning fee
Complete the MTO Medical
Step 3
If you already have a Muay Thai Ontario (MTO) competitive membership, you can continue to the next step.
The medical must be less than 1 year old from the start date of the tournament

Completion of the MTO Medical is a requirement for competing in the CMTO Youth Scrimmage
COACHES REGISTRATION
Cornering Passes will be issued on January 19th during morning weigh-ins (7am-9am).
All teams will receive 2 complementary cornering passes.
Coaches must be registered with Muay Thai Ontario (MTO) to corner athletes.

Complete your background check
Continue to "start your background check now!" for individuals. Please bring a copy of this document (digital or print out) to registration on August 25th.

If you would like to go to your local police department where you reside to complete the check, please email us at info@thecanadianmuaythaiopen.com. We will provide you with a VSV Request Form.
*If you reside in the United States, request that the police conduct a local or state criminal records search and provide you with a document reflecting that there is no history of a criminal record.*
TOURNAMENT RULES:
The tournament will be sanctioned under the rules and guidelines of Muay Thai Ontario and the Youth Development rule set

-All participants are required to wear chest protectors

LENGTH OF ROUNDS:
Ages 6,7,8 yrs - 2 x 1 minute rounds with a 1 minute rest
Ages 9, 10, 11 yrs - 2 x 1 minute rounds with a 1 minute rest
Ages 12, 13, 14 yrs - 2 x 1.5 minutes rounds with a 1 minute rest

EXPERIENCE CLASS:
Novice Division - 0-10 bouts
Open Division - 10+ bouts

WEIGHT DIVISIONS:
Weight divisions will differ by 3 KG.
No "weight cutting" or weight manipulation is permitted. Please register at the youth's current walking weight.
One weigh in only. No weight allowances.

TOURNAMENT EQUIPEMENT:
Athletes will need to bring the following to compete:
-10oz gloves (or larger)
-Foam shin guards (no cloth)
-Head Gear
-Mouthguard
-Groin Protection
The following gear will be provided:
-Chest protector
-Elbow Guards
