ATHLETE CHECK-IN
​
All athletes and teams must complete check-in before competition. Check-in is where required documents are verified, final division adjustments are completed, coach accreditation is issued, and brackets are finalized.

There are no weigh-ins at Thursday check-in. Official weigh-ins take place on the athlete’s competition day.
​
Before You Arrive
​
Please have all required documents ready before entering the check-in line.
Digital copies or printed copies are accepted.
​
Athletes must bring:
​

Muay Thai Ontario Competitive Membership receipt
-
Completed MTO Medical Declaration
-
Bloodwork, if the athlete is 16 years of age or older
-
Government-issued photo ID
-
Health card
-
Muay Thai shorts for test scale use
Athletes under 16 years of
age must complete the medical declaration but do not need bloodwork.

Athletes 16 years of age or older must complete both the medical declaration and bloodwork.
***Bloodwork must be less than one year old from the tournament start date.
​

Important Document Policy
​
Athletes who arrive without required documentation may not be permitted to compete.
​
Failure to provide proof of active Muay Thai Ontario Competitive Membership and Psyician signed and stamped Medical at check-in will result in automatic disqualification.
​
Athletes 16 years of age or older who arrive without required bloodwork will not be permitted to compete and will be disqualified without refund.
​
Check-In Process
​
When you arrive:

Enter through the tournament check-in area.

Proceed to Athlete Check-In.

Present all required documents.
-
Complete document verification.
-
Use the test scale if needed.
-
Make any final division change, if applicable ($40) after JULY 19TH*
-
Receive applicable athlete check-in items.

Attend the mandatory rules meeting.

Final division changes may only be made into divisions that are still open and available.
​
Test Scales
​
Test scales will be available at check-in.
Athletes may use the test scale to check their weight, but this is not an official weigh-in. Official weigh-ins take place on the athlete’s assigned competition day.
Athletes must make weight in their registered division on competition day. Athletes who do not make weight will be disqualified.
​
Gear & Equipment
​
Official CMTO tournament gear will be provided through the Gear Table for divisions where tournament-issued equipment is required.
​
Official CMTO gear includes:

Competition gloves
-
Head guards
-
Shin guards
-
Elbow guards
-
Body protectors, where applicable
Athletes are responsible for bringing their own:

Mouthguard
-
Hand wraps / bandages
-
Tape
-
Female chest protector, where required or used
-
Appropriate Muay Thai shorts
Athletes must use official CMTO-issued gear provided by the tournament.

Shorts Policy
​
Athletes may not wear shorts that conflict with their assigned corner colour.
-
No red shorts may be worn in the blue corner.
-
No blue shorts may be worn in the red corner.
Neutral-coloured Muay Thai shorts are strongly recommended so athletes are prepared for either corner assignment.
​
Coach Accreditation
​
Coaches, or a team proxy, must attend check-in on Thursday, August 13 to pick up coach accreditation.
​
Coach passes will not be issued on competition days.
​
All coaches and seconds must complete the required coach registration steps in order to corner athletes. *See Coaches registration link

Mandatory Rules Meeting
​
The mandatory coaches and athletes rules meeting will take place:

All athletes and coaches are expected to attend.
​
Brackets
​
Divisions will be finalized after check-in.
​
Brackets will be released Thursday evening after document verification, division adjustments, and final administrative review are complete.
​
CMTO makes every effort to release brackets as quickly as possible. Please understand that final bracket release depends on completed check-ins, athlete withdrawals, division changes, and final matching requirements.
​
Late or Missed Check-In
​
Athlete check-in closes at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 13.
​
Athletes who do not complete check-in may be removed from brackets and may be disqualified without refund.
​

If you are delayed due to travel or an emergency, contact CMTO immediately before check-in closes.

Come Prepared
​
To keep the tournament moving efficiently, please arrive prepared, organized, and on time.
​
Have your documents ready, check your weight if needed, attend the rules meeting, and stay alert for bracket release Thursday evening. Athletes - get some sleep. Coaches - keep your athletes informed! We have an amazing team of Coaches who really have their Athlete's back!!! Keep it up!!
